The NYC Muslim Center (NYCMC) Expansion is a NYC DOB approved, community-centered project that will enlarge the current 35,000 SF NYCMC to a 60,000 SF Community Powerhouse

The project will develop & expand the branches of NYCMC including Masjid 'Eesa ibn Maryam, FKAD Institute, NYCMC Foster Care, Wellspring Elementary, Middle and High and The Hatebusters.

    Due to space constraints, FKAD Institute announces that it will begin the NYC Muslim Center (NYCMC) Project – purchasing a 35,000 SF community center that will become the umbrella organization for FKAD Institute, an Islamic School, a Masjid & a Foster Care initiative

    NYCMC is formally established (tax-id 27-3308812) as tax exempt, not for profit organization


    A contract is signed for $3,000,000.00 to purchase the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran School, a 35,000 SF Church and Private School located in Hollis, NY.

    In 4 months, NYCMC raises $625,300.00 in donations and $2,374,700.00 in non-interest-bearing loans for the 35,000 SF facility purchase


    NYCMC renovates the purchased facility


    Masjid Eesa ibn Maryam, a new branch of NYCMC, opens & holds it’s first prayer services


    FKAD Institute, now a branch of NYCMC, holds its first courses of the ADP Program at NYCMC

Due to safety regulations, limited space & on-going operations the NYCMC Expansion Project will be completed in phases as follows:

PHASE-1: BUILDOUT 

COMPLETED TASKS

✓ Demolition of interior gymnasium ceiling

✓ Demolition of house extension

✓ Demolition of 2 lower level classrooms

✓ Buildout of 900 SF in lower level classrooms

✓ Downpayment for Structural Steel is paid

✓ Completion of all excavation

✓ Completion of all footings and foundations

✓ Completion of demolition of old gymnasium

✓ 229 Tons of Steel are fully funded

TASKS CURRENTLY in progress

  • Manufacturing and installation of Structural Steel

  • Pouring of lower level and mezzanine concrete slabs

  • Electricity and plumbing framework

  • CMU Wall installation

  • Installation of bricks for exterior walls


PHASE-2: EXPANSION

  • Installation of north elevator allowing handicap accessibility


PHASE-3: COMPLETION

  • Completion of 9,700 SF rooftop space with 5,700 SF rooftop field

  • Completion of 2,400 SF sister's prayer hall

  • Completion of 1,000 SF multipurpose hall

  • Completion of multipurpose laboratory

  • Completion of new & larger ablution and restrooms in Masjid

  • Installation of Masjid elevator allowing handicap accessibility
